JIA takes its name from the Mandarin word meaning 'home' and is the second to open in the JIA collection of boutique hotels conceptualized by young Singaporean businesswoman Yenn Wong who is committed to developing properties with a pulse. Following in the footsteps of the Philippe Starck-designed JIA HONG KONG, this Shanghai sister fuses comfort and luxury, striking a perfect balance between a home and a hotel, with a touch of humour to boot!

Located in a stunning 1920's European building right on Nanjing Road, JIA's interiors have been infused with a contemporary yet somehow familiar sense of place, acknowledging that not all travellers travel for business and not all travellers travel for pleasure.

At JIA your travel accommodation is never monotonous - you can choose from a variety of differently colour-themed rooms which are relaxing yet with a sense of energy, all fitted with the latest in-room communication and entertainment technology. Studio rooms are spacious and sassy, Suites are sexy and two Penthouse suites are playfully indulgent.

A Business Centre helps to lighten your workload while you cuddle a cocktail in the sensuously chic Lobby lounge or indulge in seriously good Italian cuisine served with passion. But if you'd rather spend your time sculpting those abs, go ahead and pump up in the Techno Gym.

JIA Shanghai is a joint venture between the pert and petite Ms. Wong and Hong Kong-based Indonesian Businessman John Aryananda. Rooms and suites were designed by award-winning Melbourne-based BURO Architects in association with Hecker Phelan and Guthrie Interiors (HP&G). The Lobby is designed with an eclectic mix of bespoke furniture by award-winning interior designer, André Fu of Hong Kong architectural firm AFSO. Design of JIA Shanghai's Italian restaurant, ISSIMO is by Hong Kong-based Darryl Goveas of Pure Creative International.
